Alice in Wonderland
Sunday, February 28, 2010 @ 10:39 PM

As a kid, everyone has heard of the little girl in the blue dress who fell down a rabbit hole and found herself in a mystical world with magical creatures. Her name? None other than the infamous Alice.

I read the book back in Primary School yet I still vividly remember a purple cheshire cat with glowing eyes, a white rabbit who held a ticking clock and lots of references to poker cards.

Despite a very strong affection for the cheeky Chesire Cat, I have to say that my absolute favourite character is none other than...

The Mad Hatter!

When we were younger, we probably just really thought this guy was from the loony bin. But looking at him now, we can actually understand certain things about this eccentric character, and here are 3 reasons why I like him:

1. The Mad Hatter was never literally called by the common term we know him as in the books, although Alice is warned by the Chesire Cat that he is 'mad'. With this fact, I somehow feel it gives one a lot of room for imagination and exploration of his character! How cool is that!

2. In the upcoming adaption of Alice in Wonderland, The Mad Hatter has orange hair, and this is due to a possibility of how the character's name was derived. Hatters are people who...well, make hats. During the process of hatmaking, it is almost impossible to avoid inhaling the fumes of mercury that are given off. This made hatters appear disturbed or mentally confused, and many died early as a result of poisoning. So what has it got to do with his hair...right? Well it is believed he is poisoned and so mad that it is depicted in his hair.

Betcha guys never knew!

3. THE FRIGGIN AWESOME-MEST TRAILER EVERY MADE FOR A MOVIE ADAPTED FROM A CHILDREN'S BOOK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You and Me together cos it feels so right
Thursday, February 25, 2010 @ 11:45 PM

Sitting at Central now waiting for Taufiq - and the wait is excruciating. Taufiq, what the heck you're damn late! Being alone always gives me way too much time to think of stuff and that really sucks. Plus, it looks like it's gonna rain in a few. :(

The upside is I managed to get up today to follow my mum to buy stocks for the bazaar tomorrow and Sunday. So many pretty accessories at pocket friendly prices. Hopefully we make loads of cash and celebrate her birthday on Sunday with a bang.

In need of a Job
@ 3:29 PM

Everyone has got to bear with no pictures hahahah because I STILL haven't got a camera yet. Hoping my dad won't service the one that is spoilt cos there is really no point. A while ago I was still reallyyyyyyy into buying one but then shit happened and I've lost interest in lots of stuff. Happier girl these days though.

Ok it's almost 3 weeks into my holiday and I really need a job. :( If only I weren't so picky about everything. Thinking about it, I kind of miss working at Tommy because it was just the four of us and thinking about how we sneaked food and took naps in the dressing room never fails to make me laugh. Plus the money earned for that one month was incredible for a PT job. If only I knew exactly where it went?

Glad I'll be working this weekend - may business be good and leave me happy! It is tough surviving on what is left of your own money.

Anyway, finally met Cher after a looooooooong time yesterday and we went singing with her coursemates. Singing is really the best way to get rid of stress but endless days of rehearsing for Stef's surprise and everything is killing my throat. Hahahaha and Stef I hope you had a lot of fun even though the cake was too sweet and all. You know we love you.

And...I know it isn't the best reason to think so but I keep thinking about how everything has friggin changed. And the one thing I want in the world so much are for the simplest things to stay constant.

P/S:

And this just in...CA and I wanna switch from our iPod classics to iTouch(s) instead. Ok so he might be getting an iPhone, which is great except I really hate the dying batt part...

Sigh and sometimes I really wish I lived his life instead of mine I want to fly every couple of months too.

Ch-ch-ch-change
Monday, February 22, 2010 @ 12:20 AM

It's already a week into the holidays. Well, technically, it's already a holiday for those who just finished their first year in CMM, cos almost everyone else is slogging through exam week right now.

So anyway, dropping by for some advertising:

Gonna help my mum at a small Korean bazaar at Far East plaza this weekend - so do come down and support! Korean inspired accessories going cheap ^^ Most of the shops at Far East sell them for really expensive. So do come downnnnnn.

G'night all!

/Edit

Just had my third steamboat for CNY in two days - and on Friday it's another round at Bryan's. I was thinking of having one for my friends too but then it'll be ultimate madness - won't everyone get sick of eating!?!? I know I will.

My tummy's full and we're going visiting later at Aunty Joanna's. I always love visiting her place each CNY - never feel fufilled without going there. And tomorrow there's visiting at my dad's side, which I like too because I honestly only get to see them during CNY and I really enjoy their company (and food!).

Actually, I was determined to be as busy as possible these couple of days, because everything just whizzes by. I remember desperately trying to celebrate Christmas, then celebrating my birthday, now it's CNY already, and it's the last of the festivity for awhile. We are halfway through February already.

Right, gonna play Sims 3 and create a really handsome Sim - be back later!

Happy Chinese New Year + V'Day
Sunday, February 14, 2010 @ 4:07 PM

I just read a guy's blog dedicating a Valentine's post to his girlriend and I feel so incredibly touched! Usually it's the girls who do such things ain't it? Sigh.

Anyway, I just got back from Ben's place. It's become a tradition every year to visit their place first, then my father's side's aunts and uncles on the second day. But it's my first CNY feeling so different and this feeling is rather nostalgic. Plus, I haven't eaten any bwa kwa yet since CNY!

Maybe I am sore but I much rather be surrounded by red paper lanterns, pineapples and cheesy CNY songs than lovey dovey crap.

Still, hope everyone is enjoying the fattening food, abundance of ang baos and the joy of meeting up with your relatives! ^^

Will be back soon.

Also, while I am here:

Happy Birthday, Nicole Tang!

You are an amazing person and I hope the new year for you will be one filled with all sorts of good surprises. I know you will be able to overcome all odds, and when LaiHan is not here I'll take her place as the temporary BFF ok HAHAH. <3

T.O.P and Seungri sure are looking mighty fine.

Certainly one thing I miss about being unrestrained is the total pleasure in this. Plus I've just finished watching episode 4 of SHINee's Hello Baby and...ONEW IS SO FRIGGIN CUTE ^^ Sigh what I would give to wake up next to his sleeping form.

Ok, fantasies aside, today was an excellent day. Although I woke up at 8AM when journalism was at 9 AM (Crap only 1 friggin hour to get to TP is no joke.) and rushed like some mad dog, I still made it! Went for KFC with the little people that came today after class, then watched The Grudge with Eudora in the library.

It was a total fail movie, btw. I'm glad we never watched it in cinemas.

Anyway, Eudora and Nava convinced me to stay and wait for the arrival of the UWA students despite me not being a part of the programme - AND I AM SO GLAD I DID!!!!!!!! The students, although older than us by a couple of years, are incredibly friendly and nice, and it was awesome getting to chat with them about their culture and life back there.

Then I glanced at my phone and saw missed calls from Kt and LCA and I was reminded I had somewhere to go.

To Steph: Hey girl, I had a lot of fun although I only stayed for a short while but I hope you had a happy birthday ^^ And sorry I couldn't get you a better present because I seriously had zero idea on what to get. Hope the love from all your friends, family and boyfriend was more than enough! Hope you really enjoyed yourself.

So here's to the end of year 1
Friday, February 12, 2010 @ 1:19 AM

Today I finished my final presentation of the semester as well as French roleplay - I can't believe how fast this semester has flown by! A 100% coursework semester means that we don't have any main exams at all. I mentioned this to a few people over the past weeks like CA and Xephry and Ger and all and everyone was just...flabbergasted? HAHAH.

The strangest thing is that for the first time ever, I am kinda at a lost at what I am going to do, with it being the first long holiday without absolute plans. But well hey, I know for sure I won't let time slip by for nothing.

I can't believe that I've managed to scrape past the past 2 months too, when everything was so rough and I spent a lot of time just fighting with my own thoughts. Many days I always felt I had no reason to feel this way because I am actually an incredibly lucky person, and when I ended up feeling otherwise I would get really, really mad at myself. Plus, it was sickening to drag myself to school everyday and face the world when all I wanted to do was hibernate till the hole in my heart was completely filled again - but I did it, and it feels simply amazing. Come to think of it, I really learned quite abit about people and how feelings change. It taught me that nothing is ever constant even if I want it to be and that sometimes, there are some things that just cannot be blamed, or have solid reasons to back up. Things just happen. It was just a really tiring process, going through the ups and downs but I am happy that I am slowly making progress. Slowly - but surely.

There's still J2 tomorrow - and THEN it's really over. ^^ Awesome. Night all x.

P/S Dare I say I have this incredible urge to stop blogging permanently?

So it's 3:06 AM and I've just completed my speech awhile ago, not yet memorised so planning to get up early to. Damn just hang in there Rach, one day left. Just go to bed now and get up at 8 AM to practice. Once french roleplay is over you're freeeeeeeee.

And I'm so glad I cut my hair + fringe, the world's so much clearer now. And lighter! I feel like getting it cut even shorter now but if I don't blow dry my hair it's gonna go all haywire.

K night world!

Some time alone to think about things.

CNY shopping
Saturday, February 06, 2010 @ 11:59 PM

Shopping today with Jeanette was...a full-blown exercise routine, I swear. We walked the entire Orchard and both spent about $1xx each (New dress, new shoes, new jumper...) but it's okay cos I think it was worth it - although now I think I've been spending seriously wayyyy too much but hey CNY is round the corner to 'recoup' my losses!!

The past week has been eventful, I've been kept extremely occupied and I think that's really great because it helps take my mind off things. But when I'm back alone at home I just can't help but think again sometimes.

And I gues I really need to spring clean - spring clean my room for a start. The place is looking like a really gross mess. But the thing is, every single night I feel too tired to even do anything!! This is bad. I only just moved most of my clothes back into my wardrobe, and I am already pooped.

Alright, gonna take a shower then hit the hay. I'm gonna meet the girls at 9am at Kranji tomorrow for photog. -.- I seriously can't wait to get my speech and photog over and done with. And I friggin need a job!

Totally got influenced to skip J2 today (I've missed 3 tutorals of J2 in total ok! But I've got leave for one so...that means I have completely maximised my usage of skipping a class) since the girls were all skipping. Met up in TP after to hand in J2, watch half of Princess Diaries and then went to...

Borrowed the Nikon D90 from school and lugged it around today with my own bag which really sucked...but thank you so much Jean for helping me with the tripod!

I remember Yi Hui always wanted to go but sadly, it is not really all that fun for people like us unless we're rich! Was hoping to get decent shots for photography but...it seems like we'll likely be making a trip elsewhere instead.

It's offical - I only have one week with T04 left, the first class I've had in poly, and it's been an amazing ride. At first, like most students who get thrown into an entirely new class after being in a familiar environment for such a long time, I felt really tired of meeting new people and getting to know them all over again.

But I have never regretted even one moment of meeting everyone in T04, every single person is just special in their own way, and I've made really good friends this year. ^^ Love every single one of you!

CNY shopping with Jean tomorrow I can't wait!!! She's snagged the most gorgeous pair of wedges today at a steal - can't wait to find mine tomorrow.

And oh well, just like that, another week has gone by. I can't wait to start living life more productively. With the holidays coming I am thinking of getting another job but just thinking about it makes me cringe. Tommy was great but the hours were...awesome.

Plus I seriously need a trim or something my fringe is killimg me every single day...

Wednesday, February 03, 2010 @ 11:57 PM

I get really excited and jittery at the same time when I have a ton of things to do. And tonight I have a ton of things to do. Well, technically, it's just studying for my media management and french tests and preparing my speech for presentation tomorrow right?!

Oh my God what am I still doing here for. Wish me luck for tomorrow guys!!

You will never know just how much you mean to me.
Tuesday, February 02, 2010 @ 11:03 AM

Sometimes I am scared that when people acknowledge that they are busy and okay with going on with their own lives they just end up disappearing from each other's.

Lately, all of my friends seem to be doing pretty well.

Lai Han texted me around 6-ish in the morning just now saying she's in school and surrounded by lots of Chinese students! I hope that's comfort for her, hopefully she settles in well, and I really, really hope she is going to have a lot of fun with her new friends, new family, new school and new environment. I know she's gonna do well!

I hope Chong Aik isn't feeling too overwhelmed with work anymore, and I hope I will be able to meet him soon. Dang, totally missed my opportunity yesterday when I didn't pick up his call!

And for sure, Yi Hui is doing good too. And Elisa. And Reb and Gi in their new JCs. And Cher, I know she's always strong enough to overcome the odds and still able to be there for people.

Just wanted to tell you guys how I suddenly miss you this Tuesday morning.

And though I wasn't really looking forward to it, I now am pretty much happy that CNY is coming. Not so much the long holidays though, what am I supposed to do if I can't find a job?!? But I shall worry about that later.

All right, gonna get ready for class. Have a good week all!
