Birthday postttttttttttt!

So it's all over now but I HAD A BLAST. Thank you thank you thank you every single one of you who made my 19th birthday so special. :) I didn't expect anything this year because well...it's my 19th! Hahah and my 18th was already amazing so I don't expect anything this year. But yet again I love you guys for everything!!

Some of the presents I got this year (What's missing are the clothes Yiyun, Keith, Stef and Mich got me since they're in the washing machine! But they're really pretty and my sister loves them. LOL):



SERIOUSLY IS THIS CUTE OR WHAT!!!!! My sister made it! Love her so much for it. I came home the day before my birthday and she was in the kitchen baking. I knew it was gonna be for me but I asked anyway and she insisted it was for 'a friend'. Then when I went to shower and came out again she started screeching, "DON'T COME IN DON'T COME IN!!!!!!"

Then she presented this to me a couple of minutes later. Hahah the only thing is that the cake is pretty inedible because it's practically diabetic...but other than that I still love it! I've only eaten a small square corner of it though. :(

But thanks Becky you're honestly awesome!!! Can't bake to save my life so this is really good. I will buy you an oven!

It's officially less than 24 hours to my birthday and here I am reflecting on what I have achieved in my life as an 18 year old. On my iPhone. Quite a mean feat no less. I reckon I've been living free and happy as a bird ever since I realised the absolute freedom and liberty I have and ought to embrace. I don't think I have garnered significant knowledge or wisdom - but the subtle ones are what counts. And what adds value to my everyday life.

I seek love, health and the ability to simply live each day knowing I have made a small difference to someone's life and that I am happy. Just like any other girl out there. And I will continue to believe and think this way to make each day count. I will NOT live dreaming I could be whimsical and quirky like the prettily dressed up with perfect hair girl on Tumblr because I am way more than that. I will appreciate myself, never be overly emotional for too long because I'll become a nuisance instead of being sentimental - and spend my time much more productively and meaningfully...for a greater good. I will respect those that deserve respecting and love unconditionally for it is then the greatest love of all. I will also be comfortable in my own skin and only do things I like without the pressure of society and peers. Which basically translates to me being a homebody, curled up with my books. Just the way I like it.

Have made so many new friends in the past year and grown closer to even more. Funnily, I don't find myself looking for dependency or comfort in any one person, but I really like getting to know each and every one of my friends on their own and figuring out what makes them tick. It's amazing how different all the people I've met are and though no 2 of my friends are very similar I do think they fufil a part of my life they are meant for. So thank you for making that impact.

Right here right now, I have nothing else I want for my birthday but all the good things for my family. May my parents be able to stop slogging their guts out (good business all year around!) and staying extremely healthy. May my siblings think less of themselves and be more
selfless as well as grow in maturity. And I sincerely hope my grandmother will be happy and less taxed everyday too. Cheers to the awesome family that I tend to take for granted too often. Love you all very much from the bottom of my heart.

Oh and of course, a fantastic GPA. That would be best gift foreverrrr. And the ability to save more money.

It's technically Friday morning right now and omgosh I have been planning to sleep since 11plus and it's now 2:35AM!!!!! Hahahah procastination at its best. Today was awfully productive though, finally finished BSE with much work done from Jean's side (YOU ARE THE BEST)

Anyway, spending the night chatting with my beloved Sam Sam about cute pooches. Wanted to finally continue Dream High but nooooo. Sigh, I gotta start getting my (drama) priorities right.


The recent influx of assignments have been driving people up the wall but I just wanna say...sometimes life throws you a curveball just to see how you are gonna dodge it. So my dear friends you have been doing well. And if you ever feel the need to isolate yourselves or punch a person or two - just let it all out, then keep moving on. CHIN UP GUYS!




P/S And actually, I'm pretty glad that you told me everything you just did. I hope people see past everything they think of you because you're way more than that! So keep going dude, you can def impress.

I AM DONE WITH RADIO ASSIGNMENT 3 BITCHESSSSSSSSS.

Although I am certain it is another C buttttt I did my best really. Can't force out anything else and that's that. Or maybe it's cos of all the demoralising grades for the past assignments!

Crazily tired after sleeping over with Keith and Jules at Fiona's on Thursday (All work and no fun), having a full Friday out and then spending my Saturday the same way. Goodnessssss. Need some air to breathe. I dare say this is the busiest I've been since I've entered CMM and I know it's gonna get tougher. Not as mad over my results as I was two days ago cos I'm certain I'm better than that. It's just that the feeling of getting all that wind knocked out of you ain't good at all. Still, am responsible for my own life and how things turn out so I have no one to blame.

That aside, spent today at Mich's after borrowing Mel's laptop. She is sooooooo nice!! We were supposed to meet and work together but she decided to lend her her mac instead cos she wasn't able to meet me. Thanks to you I finished everything girl <3 Haha I didn't even use the friggin audio suite at all. Not that I would have done it any justice though ha ha ha.




Hehe the happy people in my life.

Anyway, in the midst of all the school madness I managed to meet Cher on Fri evening after school for 126 dim sum! She loves that place I swearrrrrr but the food is really good. And despite all that crap I felt it was awesome meeting her and ranting, talking about our lives and just catching up.



















Went to Nexx's Starbucks after dinner to get caramel frappes and I watched her edit Polliposh pictures. It's her cousin's blogshop and the clothes are pretty nice so you guys can go support okay :-)

Seems like I can never get the best of both worlds! It's been yet another gloriously cold day but with that comes a ton of rain as well. If only just the cold weather would stay. Would be more than happy dressing up like a bun everyday and going to school.

So today's interview at SPH...it wasn't fantastic in my opinion. Could have been a lot better but I don't think it went all that bad either. It really struck me this morning that well, hey, this was the moment I had been waiting for all my life. All the times as a kid back then I would envision myself strutting into the editor's office and impressing her. Cinching a job as a writer with my favourite magazine. I can't believe I finally got my chance today. Was all pretty unreal to me. I guess, I really am growing up faster than I know it. 16 used to feel so grown up and then I became 18 and in just 2 weeks I am turning 19. My last year before hitting the big 2-0 but my mum always says that once you try counting, the years just fly by and you'll find yourself turning 50 so that's quite something.

Here I am now, lying on my bed when it's barely 9pm and all I really wanna do is fall asleep right now. I still have my radio scripting to do but my mind is a total and complete blank right now. Maybe I'll get some inspiration falling asleep?

Shall catch some sleep and work on something substantial later. Happy near end-of-week all!

My nails are currently midnight black with sparkly blue glitter flecks. I think I am getting pretty good at this mani thing. And my sis is awesome because she is just picking everything up from her A+ sister! Teehee.

Life recently has still been plagued with assignments and more assignments. I'm guessing it's just crunch time for us all before the real holidays kick in. I've been constantly obsessed with getting my GPA up but now it's not even interesting to try and keep up with scoring anymore because it's wayyy tiring and all I really want to do each day is sleep. :( Plus my creativity level is...nada.

Oh I have also been practicing the guitar daily since SL passed his to me (Thank you!) and Mich has been coaching me.

Dropped my baby Fujitsu the other day and sigh my poor heart broke with it. It's still in working condition but looking at its scars make me feel like I have completely abused it. At least it's almosttt two years old.

Anyway, totally done with our first Multicam recording. It was awesome and Cher is a goddess for helping me out! <3


So next up, it's radio, journalism and more radio! Cheers to that.


P/S My interview is confirmed!! For Weds. Let's all cross our fingers and pray hard for me aite!!

P/P/S I really want to get back into dance but I can barely even walk anymore. Time to get FIT!

So, it's 3:51 AM on a Friday morning and I am JUST about done with my article and layout design. Tough work. Whoever said being a wannabe journalist was gonna be easy, huh? Beginning to question if this is what I really want again, but then again nothing else comes to mind. Maybe I am still figuring things out.

Speaking of which, I was really happy to receieve a call from SPH again last week after my writing test - yet they didn't promise anything. Sigh. Expecting another interview and keeping my fingers crossed.


And lately, grappling with my own thoughts have become a whee bit more tiring than usual. Can't believe I am turning 19 this month. In 19 days, to be exact. Whoa.

Don't want anything for my birthday except to be happy. And for those around me to be happy. It seems simple but we all know it takes a whole lot more than that!

Spent the first day of 2011 with someone whom I hardly meet - Taufiq! Hehe. He can now drive and it was awesome just zipping everywhere - except for the fact he still hasn't got his road directions right and I am of zilch help.

Went to Beach Road to get his rescue gloves then to the airport for Astons! But we went in circles cos we got totally lost ha ha ha.

At T1. The terminal is currently undergoing renovations and it looks pretty ugly but man, it is the place of all the good times we had in the past after Yuying exams. I remember the lot of us would just hop onto 53 outside school and go to the airport. HAHAHA WHAT KIND OF STUDENTS WOULD DO THAT FOR FUN! Scarily, that was at least FOUR YEARS AGO! Can't believe how fast time is moving along.

So that's how my quiet first day of the new year was spent. Tomorrow's the last day of blogshops @ Changi so do head down or you'll only have the end of this year to do so! :)

Gonna catch a movie before school starts tomorrow. Not looking forward to the influx of work but AM looking forward to the next loooong holiday.


Thankful for everything and everyone in my life right now x. Still NEED an epic party with @phanglaihan @flyingbytokyo @taufiqz to kickstart my 2011 before they fly wherever or get busy again.
