Happy 20th and 21st Birthday!
Monday, May 23, 2011 @ 11:36 PM

This is a pretty belated post, but at least it is finally up! It was a great Saturday spent, and happy birthday Cher & Jeremy! :):):) It was really great seeing the two of you enjoy yourselves with all your friends coming together to celebrate the occasion (I know it's definitely not easy to get everyone in one place!), and I hope the night is gonna be one to remember always.

Really enjoyed snapping so many photo cause everyone looked so beautiful/handsome. Las Vegas babiessssssss!

So, in no particular order (Cos I am so friggin late already), photos!

F-F-Fashion News

Glad to say that things have slowly been picking up at work, I'm learning more now and getting to see more as well - which is great! Many thanks to the fashion writer for being so patient with me although I'm pretty much an airhead 24/7 at work. Not too hot.

Went for the H&M showcase yesterday at Wisma Atria and also attend Blueprint (Asia's Fashion Trade Gateway) today. In all honestly, fashion is something that is extremely raw to me but this is definitely an outlet I do not mind exploring. Will be writing fashion news soon too, so I am really nothing short of excited.

Only tiring part was lugging tons and tons of catalogues home.

The H&M showroom showcased their fall/winter collections. Tons of vintage pieces with a lot of loud, bold colourful prints. Khaki and statement colours (Dark greens and blues), as well as a more English selection with thick coats and plaids. What I really liked were the accessories (Think lots of gold coupled with cute trinkets) and there was even a section of clothes for the younger crowd - girls and guys in their teens. This range included leather skirts, tanks and cute cardis for the girls and baseball jackets and tees for the dudes.

Two of my favourites from the men's collection:

Surprising how this parka doesn't give the outfit a slouchy, laidback look but instead sharpens it. Great for layering over an otherwise bland outfit but might be a tad hard to pull off on most guys here. Love the details on the chest of the parka. What makes it special is that they could have easily been substituted for pockets but that would totally ruin the uniqueness of it.

Perfectly suited but the fur-trimmed coat gives the entire outfit a ton of edge. This is how my boyfriend will dress. HAHAHA.

My favourite's the whimsical Gretal inspired look (Second from left). The coat's too die for!

Think a lot of places, like Zara, have begun carrying the looks above though. Bright colours that people used to avoid (Mustards, oranges etc and high waisted flared pants). All for fall baby!

Best part about the clothes are that the prices aren't exorbitant. The downside is that everyone is probably gonna be wearing the same thing after it opens.

TGIF! Going for a photoshoot spread tomorrow but absolutely can't wait for the weekends.

Life is too short to throw away

I always have the urge to type something in this outlet, to share my thoughts with someone who might be reading. And well, I just heard the terrible news of another teenage suicide - a beautiful young girl of 18. Something that struck me hard although I personally do not know her. But news of suicides always get to me.

Am not gonna comment on why she did what she did because her brother has voiced out that news reports were untrue (Very disappointed with that. Unprofessional and unfeeling) and also there is no need to discuss this. But I really hope that she is in a better place now. Every time someone harbours the thought of ending his/her own life, I always wonder just how much they went through just to reach that decision. Or was it a spur of the moment thing? Whatever it is, I still yearn for the day that people realise that suicide is never an option...no matter how tough life gets. I might not be in the right position to say anything like that when I am know perfectly well that I am luckier than so many people out there and have no idea what it is like to live unhappily - whether the problem is severe or not. But to destroy yourself, even by choice, kills so many others. Making them live with the pain that you got rid of.

The hurt doesn't go away when you die. It is carried on by the living.

Happy 20th Birthday, Cheryl Neo!

Dear Cher,

PLEASE PARDON THE CHEESY PHOTOS HAHAHAHA.

In about less than an hour's time you are gonna hit the big 2-0! Hope you are having fun typing that report hahahaha. Although you always act about 10 years younger than me I think you'll be able to live up to 20 really well. :) I know that this year has not got off to an easy start for you and you've started on your road of independence - not too smoothly, but whatever it is I am here for you! And so are a lot of people, you know that. I know that so many people out there are ignorant about things that happen to you, how you feel and all that, so I just want to remind you always to keep your chin up and just keep moving forward. Those bitches ain't got nothing on you.

Also, everyone thinks we are really different, even though I know not everyone says it. But I like it this way, how we are not predictable but complement each other well. You are an admirable person and I think you are an amazingly beautiful girl inside and out - so when you look into the mirror every morning I hope you see the same person I see. Someone with courage, someone with fierce loyalty and someone with loads of character. I think you don't need a lousy dude to tell you that. ^^

I think this is the 5th year since we've been friends, and I am superrrrrrr glad for the day we started talking. We might not have the same group of friends but cheesy as it is, least we have each other!

Not gonna compliment you anymore here la I'll just whatsapp you (HAHAHA FOR REAL I WILL CHECK IT MORE OFTEN). Hehe.

Happy birthday, Cher! Love you!!

And tonight, all the world stands still. How I wish I could capture this moment...always.

Bye bye weekend
Monday, May 02, 2011 @ 11:24 PM

Yet another week is coming around but I'm glad to kickstart work on a Tuesday. Helps a lot that your long weekend takes Monday away. It really does!

So the weekend was really fantastic. Karaoke with Stef and chicken rice with the others yesterday, manicure with Cher at Ber's today...AND went to a beach party on Siloso beach courtesy of Mel with Keith and Jean on Saturday night! And oh my goodness the hottest people alive in Singapore must all congregate and spread their hotness among each other there because I had never seen so many good-looking people in one place till Saturday night.

Party and party and yeah!

Thanks for inviting us to Amnesia Ibiza! Trance music not really our thing but still, good times! And I know we left wayyyy too early but at least we had fun.

Anyway, anyone who wants to do nails, visit My Little Nail Hut for updates and support our friend, Bernice! She has extremely affordable charges and it's home-based so it's really nice and cosy and you don't have to jostle with crowds in nail parlours.

Did a classic French mani today and Cher has some really pretty nail art!! I love manicures but I think after this set I'm gonna let my nails breathe for at least a month or something. Think they're seriously unhealthy now. :(

Keeping my fingers crossed to a fantastic week ahead. Same goes out for everyone!!
